Take this one for example:

You see it like this as it is now on the first page:
||-- phpBB Security 1 phpBB Se... phpBB Se...
||---- phpBB Security Translations

Why not be able to remove (Hide) the:
||---- phpBB Security Translations
From the first page ?

And instead show the:
||---- phpBB Security Translations
Same way as a SubForum when you go into the page
||-- phpBB Security 1 phpBB Se... phpBB Se...

Like this page for example:
www.scripts.com

They show all their main categories like this on the first page:
* ASP NET Scripts (201)
* ASP Scripts (1146)
* C and C++ Scripts (96)
* Coldfusion Scripts (74)
* Java Scripts (784)
* JavaScript Scripts (1380)
* Perl Scripts (2329)
* PHP Scripts (3903)
* Python Scripts (41)
* Remotely Hosted Scripts (777)
* Tools and Utilities Scripts (966)

And no Sub Category is shown in any way, imagine how long that page
would be then. Because when you open up a category you see all
the sub categories like this (Opened: ASP NET Scripts):

* Ad Management Programs (6)
* Auction Software (1)
* Calendar Scripts (7)
* Classified Ads Scripts (2)
* CMS Software (24)
* Communication Scripts (11)
* Customer Support Software (5)
* Database Tools (14)
* Development Tools (23)

* Email Scripts (5)
* Error Handling Scripts (1)
* FAQ Software (2)
* File Manipulation Scripts (7)

This would be a very nice feature...
Atleast allow to show the subcategories when you go into a category...

So what exactly are you asking, not to show sub categories? Because it appears you say you want them, then again it appears you dont...
